Rowley’s are delighted to be holding a stand-alone timed auction of works by the renowned wildlife artist Andrew Haslen.
In 1977, Andrew was given the opportunity to train and fly a Peregrine Falcon. It was this falcon, Tassa, that Ray Turner wrote about in his classic monograph Gamehawk. Andrew produced the line drawings for this book and has always had an idea that one day he would create a series of paintings to accompany it. Thirty years on, and having been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, Andrew decided that if he was going to do this, then the time was now. As often happens with this kind of project, once started it took on a life of its own and the book The Art of Gamehawking was born.
The auction includes 85 original works which were used to illustrate The Art of Gamehawking and a further 9 additional original works.
